• Pass the Course

The State of New Jersey requires you to pass the 75hr NJ Real Estate Salesperson Prelicensing course which prepares you to take your state licensing exam.

  • Take the Exam

Once you pass the course, you will take your state licensing exam. You can take the exam at many testing centers throughout the state, or from home with an online proctor. A 70% is required to pass the NJ licensing exam.

  • Submit your Application

Once you pass your exam, you can start interviewing at different brokerages and then submit your application for approval with the State of New Jersey.

Working with a Brokerage

After you pass your licensing exam, you will interview with several brokerages to find a good fit for you. You do not need to be aligned with a brokerage prior to starting the course. Upon completing the course, you will get a guide explaining how to find and choose the right brokerage for you.

Help for Graduates

The Real Estate Career Center provides resources for graduates (for free!) to ensure a good start in their new career. We do not promote any one brokerage, rather we will educate you on what you need to know to pick the brokerage that's best for you.
